Spokane's Clock Tower

Spokane, Washington is named after the Spokane indians who were the first inhabitants of this area prior to the arrival of trappers from both the United States and Canada. Spokane is pronounced 'Spoh-Kan' and a certain giveaway for a person outside the area is when they pronounce the name 'Spoh-Kain'

There are four major areas in Spokane where people choose to live. When we first got here we were told about the Valley, South Hill, Downtown, and North Side. Our realtor told us that each person chose a different place and then were fiercly loyal to that location. It's true!
