We arrived in Portland at various times
during Saturday the 8th and spent some time in the lobby catching up
on family news.
|
|
In the evening we left for the Chart
House restaurant in Portland and proceeded to enjoy an evening of celebration
in honor of the graduate.

Every photographer has his Achilles Heel.
Mine is photographing my wife. I can never get a picture of her with
her eyes all the way open (except
this one). Here I've tried three times to get a picture with her
sister Terry, but no such luck. If anyone out there can help my understand
how to fix this problem I'd sure like to here about how.

|
Jenny (who has had to put up living with
Leslie for a while now.)
|
|
There were a series of toasts to be made.
First was me, but since I'm the photographer, I do get my picture included.
Then Aunt Linda led the toasting followed by Grandpa Jansen. A family
celebration would just not be right without Uncle David toasting. Of
couse it didn't seem right anyway because his toast sound coherent.

The best was when the four family women graduates
all stood together. They are (from left to right) Terry, Leslie, Karen,
and Linda. Each originally a Jansen (okay, one still is for now), three
generations, and all have degrees. Way cool. |

Mom and daughter.
|
|
A remarkable thing happened while we
were at dinner. The family began to notice a real resembalance between
Uncle D and his father. I can’t quite place my finger on it, but
something certainly seems familiar.
